About Saphan

Meaning of ❝Saphan❞

Saphan means “bridge” in Thai.

We named this organization “Saphan” in hopes that the children we cope with can become “bridges” towards their futures, and that we can become a “bridge” between Thailand and Japan.

Our Vision

A society where children can decide their own path without being influenced by the environment

Our Mission

  • Give children an opportunity to find and discover something that they can be enthusiastic about
  • Cheer and support children and their desire to challenge something new
  • Help children job hunt

Our Value

To play the role of guiding new and colorful ideas out of children, and to build a cycle in society that proactively absorbs those innovative ideas

Where Our Organization Takes Place

An Immigrant School in Tak Province in Thailand

This province is on the border with Myanmar, with about 80% of all immigrant schools in Thailand, which is said to hold the biggest number of immigrants in south east Asia. The school curriculum of these immigrant schools are mainly of Myanmar, making it difficult for students to be enrolled in universities in Thailand. Many children, who grow up in an environment in which many adults work day labor, tend to graduate from these immigrant schools without having given the chance to meet and cope with a variety of jobs.

An Orphanage in Bangkok, Thailand

This orphanage was founded by a woman named Noi. It was originally her home, where for more than 30 years, she took in many children, from children who couldn’t live with their parents due to troubles such as financial issues, to children without parents. Since Ms. Noi managed this orphanage on her own, she couldn’t receive proper public support. After having undergone many financial crises, the site no longer acts as an orphanage, but still is a local venue for children.

We plan to,

  • Give children an opportunity to find and discover something that they can be enthusiastic about
  • Support children and their new challenges
  • Help children find jobs

In these two places.

Giving children an opportunity to find and discover something that they can be enthusiastic about

Work experience programs, workplace visits, interns, crafting experience programs, agriculture experience programs, events, etc.

Supporting children and their new challenges

Crafting, product sales, etc.

Helping children find jobs

Employment of immigrant children and children from orphanages.

We are seeking companies and organizations(Not limited to organizations in Thailand or Japan) that will cope with us to work on the above.

We are also open to any other ideas beyond what is stated above.
