First radio recording in my life in the middle of Umeda!
It was a lot of fun 🙌✨
One of the 100 things on my list of things I wanted to do at work, which I made when I founded my company, came true 😊
My business model is very simple: I use fair trade coffee from Karen farmers in Chiang Mai, Thailand to create experiences for children at a migrant school in Tak, sell the roasted beans in Japan, and give the profits back to the migrant school.
The scale of our business is still very small, and we have only achieved about 3% of the future that we want to envision through our business.
However, my two business partners, who have been working together with me from the time we met until now, have helped me face various problems that arise one after another,
The Karen people who produce coffee in our village,
the local NGO that runs the migrant school,
The teachers and children at the 12 migrant schools that we are involved with, there are so many people who are involved in the local community that I truly respect and love, and I really enjoy making things together with them 😊
This year, I am spending my time with the interns from Osaka University who are involved in Japan, and I am getting a lot of inspiration from all sides 😌🙏
Before starting the business, I didn’t know anything more than I do now, so I didn’t expect it to be so difficult to sell things and to accumulate so many sales, and there are many times when it becomes hard for me to decide what to do.
But no matter what happens, I will not give up and continue to face the business in my own way, and like a turtle, I will not stop, even if slowly 🐢
Now that the line between what I want to accomplish through my business and what I want to accomplish through volunteering and donations has finally become clear in my third term, I believe that it is meaningful to create a sustainable system through my business, no matter how unprofitable it may be, so I will not give up 😌
With that in mind,
We had a lot to talk about in a short time ✨
Thank you so much for this precious opportunity! 🙏
You can listen to Umeda FM on Friday 9/7 from 7pm, so I hope you’ll give it a listen 🥰.
